Sea and to the East is Le Marches.

Grapes:
Reds; Sangiovese. Whites;
Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Trebianno, Vernaccia.
Brunello di Montalcino is made 100 percent from the
Brunello grape, a local name for Sangiovese Grosso, a strain of the
Sangiovese variety. Brunello di Montalcino must be aged for at least
two years in oak or chestnut and an additional year of age in the
bottle while the Riserva status must be aged at least five years.
Vino Nobile di Montepulciano is a Sangiovese blend
that is grown on the Tuscan slopes of Montepulciano. The wine is produced
from Prugnolo Gentile, a Sangiovese strain, Canaiolo, Malvasia, and
Trebbiano with Grechetto Bianco (Pulcinculo) and Mammolo. Vino Nobile
di Montepulciano requires two years of aging in wood and the Riserva
must be aged for three years.
