Landiras, Magneau, de Malle, Millet, Rahoul, Respide Medeville,
Roquetaillade la Grange, St. Robert, Tourteau-Chollet, Villa Bel
Air.
Graves lies along the west side of the Gironde River.
Pessac-Léognan (pay-SOCK lay-oh-NYAHN) district lies within
the boundaries of Graves and is known for both dry red and white wines.
The southern part of the district is where Cérons, Barsac,
and Sauternes (saw-TEHRN) lie and are famous for their sweet wines.
Sixteen Graves Châteaux in 1953 and again in
1959 were classified “cru classé” or classified
growths; Château Haut-Brion was included in the 1855 Cru Classification
and is also included in this one.
