Drink Recipes "Ho-Hz"- Dallas Bartenders

Hole-in-One: Cocktail glass. 1 3/4 oz. scotch, 3/4 oz. sweet vermouth, 1/4 tsp. lemon juice and 1 dash orange bitters. Shake with ice and strain.

Honeydew Cooler: 1/3 cup ripe diced honeydew melon, 1 1/2 oz. gin, 1/4 tsp. Pernod, 1 tbsp. cream, 3/4 oz. lemon juice, 1/2 tsp. sugar and 1/2 cup crushed ice. Place ingredients in blender and blend at low speed for about 15-20 seconds. Pour into glass and add a splash of soda and ice to fill if necessary.

Honolulu Cocktail: Cocktail glass. 1 1/2 oz. gin, 1/4 tsp. orange juice, 1/4 tsp. lemon juice, 1/4 tsp. pineapple juice, 1/2 tsp. powdered sugar and 1 dash bitters. shake with ice and strain.

Horse's Neck with Gin: Highball glass. 2 oz. gin and 1/2 oz. lemon juice. Start at the stem end of a lemon and cut 1/2" of spiral peel all the way to end of fruit. Hang the neck of the peel over the glass and fill halfway with ice. Pour gin and lemon juice into the glass and fill with ginger ale.

Hot Brandy Flip: Mug. 1 1/2 oz. brandy, 1 whole egg, 1 tsp powdered sugar and hot milk. Beat egg, sugar and brandy then pour into mug and fill with hot milk. Sprinkle with nutmeg.

Hot Brick Toddy: Mug. 1 1/2 oz. blended whiskey, 1 oz. hot water, 1 tsp. butter, 1 tsp powdered sugar and a few pinches of cinnamon. Mix all ingredients except whiskey until dissolved. Add whiskey and fill with boiling water.

Hot Buttered Rum: Coffee mug. 1 1/2 oz. spiced rum. Fill with hot water and add 1 tsp. of sweetened butter, fresh grated nutmeg (if available), 1 whole clove and cinnamon.

Hot Gold: Mug or wine glass. 6 oz. very warm orange juice and 3 oz. amaretto. Pour warm ornage juice into glass and add amaretto. Garnish with a cinnamon stick as a stirrer.

Hot Pants: Old-fashioned glass rimmed with ssalt. 1 1/2 oz. tequila, 1/2 oz. peppermint schnapps, 1 tbsp. grapefruit juice and 1 tsp. powdered sugar. Shake with ice and strain.

Hot Toddy: Coffee mug. 1 1/2 oz. bourbon, 1 tsp. of honey and fill with hot water. Garnish with a slice of lemon.

Hotel Plaza Cocktail: Cocktail glass. 3/4 oz. gin, 3/4 oz. dry vermouth and 3/4 oz. sweet vermouth. Stir and strain. decorate with a crushed slice of pineapple.

Hummer: Highball glass. 1 oz. coffee liqueur, 1 oz. light rum and 2 scoops vanilla ice cream. Blend and serve.

Hurricane: Hurricane glass with ice. 1 oz vodka, 1/4 oz grenadine, 1 oz gin, 1 oz light rum, 1/2 oz Bacardi 151 Proof Rum, 1 oz almond liqueur, 1 oz triple sec, grapefruit juice, pineapple juice. Fill with equal parts of grapefruit and pineapple juice, and serve.
