Deauville Cocktail: Chilled cocktail glass. 3/4 oz.
brandy, 3/4 oz. applejack or calvados, 3/4 oz. triple sec and 3/4
oz. fresh lemon juice. Shake with ice and strain.
Debutante: Cocktail glass. 1 oz. tequila, 3/4 oz.
peach-flavored liqueur, 1/8 oz. (1 tsp.) peppermint-flavored liqueur
and 1/8 oz. lemon juice. Shake with ice and strain.
Delmonico: Rocks glass. 3/4 oz. gin, 3/4 oz. cognac
(or brandy), 3/4 oz. dry vermouth, 3/4 oz. sweet vermouth and 1 dash
Angostura bitters. Shake with ice and strain into the glass. Garnish
with an orange peel, cucumber peel and 1 maraschino cherry.
Delta: Highball glass with ice. 1 1/2 oz. whiskey,
1/2 oz. Southern Comfort, 1 /2 oz. lime juice, 1 tsp. bar syrup and
a peach slice. Shake with ice and strain. Garnish with a slice of
peach.
Dempsey:
Rocks glass with ice. 1 oz. gin, 1 oz. apple brandy, 1 or 2 dashes
of grenadine and Pernod. Shake with ice and strain.
Derby
Daiquiri: Champagne flute. 1 1/2 oz. light rum, 1
oz. orange juice, 1 tbsp. lime juice and 1 tsp. sugar. Combine allingredients
with a half-cup crushed ice and blend in a mixer at low speed.
Derby Fizz: Collins glass with ice. 1 1/2 oz. whiskey,
1/4 oz. simple syrup, 1/4 oz. lemon juice, 1 egg, 1-2 drops of curacao
(and club soda). Shake and strain except club soda. Fill with
club soda.
Derby Rum Fix: Highball glass with ice. 1 3/4 oz.
light rum, 1 oz. orange juice, 1/4 oz. lime juice, 1/4 oz. simple
syrup. Stir well with ice and strain. Garnish with a flag.
Desert Sunrise Recipe: Highball glass 3/4 filled
with crushed ice. 1.25 oz. vodka, 1.5 oz. orange juice, 1.5 oz. pineapple
juice and 1 dash grenadine. Pour all ingredients into glass and gently
stir. Top with grenadine and serve.
Devil's Tail: Champagne
flute. 1 1/2 oz. light rum, 1 oz. vodka, 1 tbsp. lime juice, 1 1/2
tsp. grenadine and 1 1/2 tsp. apricot-flavored brandy. Blend with
1/2 cup crushed ice at low speed. Garnish with a twist of lime peel.
Di amore Dream: Parfait glass. 1 1/2 oz. Amaretto
di Amore, 3/4 oz. white creme de cacao, 2 oz. orange juice and 2 scoops
of vanilla ice cream. Blend ingredients until smooth. Garnish with
an orange slice.
Diablo: Rocks glass with
ice. 1 1/2 oz. dry white port, 1 oz. dry vermouth and 1-2 drops of
lemon juice. Shake with ice and strain. Garnish with a lemon twist.
Diana:
Small white wine glass half-filled with crushed ice. 1 oz. white creme
de menthe and 1/4 oz. brandy. Pour the creme de menthe over the crushed
ice and gently add the brandy. Do not stir.
Diki
Diki: Rocks glass with ice. 3/4 oz. gin, 1/4 oz. Pernod,
1/4 oz. dry vermouth, 1 1/2 oz. orange juice and 1-2 dashes grenadine.
Shake with ice and strain.
Diki Diki #2: Cocktail glass. 1 1/2 oz. Calvados
(apple brandy), 1/4 oz. Swedish Punch and 1/4 oz. grapefruit juice.
Shake with ice and strain.
Dixie:
Rocks glass with ice. 3/4 oz. gin, 1 1/2 oz. orange juice, 1/4 oz.
Pernod, 1/4 oz. dry vermouth and 1-2 dashes grenadine.
